OUR CITY

Newburgh is the densest urban center in Orange County, with a dynamic historic district anchoring a population of 30,000 people. Recent growth and an increase in real estate development have brought change to the city, but in limited ways: Newburgh’s central core remains significantly underserved in commerce, infrastructure and community resources.

Newburgh TOOLS addresses a need for locally-led, neighborhood-scale projects that connect existing residents, activate our streets, sidewalks and empty places, and bring economic benefits and communal care back into the city center.
