#1 - SIGN OUR PETITION
Most importantly, please sign here, and forward to friends, if you live in Newburgh and think this is a good idea! The list won’t be made public, but allows us to assess interest - and the more signatures we get, the better our chances to raise money and provide more services.
#2 - HELP US BUILD
This summer, we’re constructing our facility from scratch. We’ll be building the tool library with a mix of traditional carpentry and sustainable building techniques, including bio-materials: using straw, reeds and other natural materials grown and harvested on our site and around the city. We need volunteers to help us source materials and participate in construction. For anyone who wants to sign up to help on a recurring basis, we can offer hands-on training in basic carpentry skills and sustainable design, and a free tool library membership when we launch our tool-sharing program in the spring of next year. For anyone who wants to pitch in on a few critical Community Build days, we’ll provide food and a fun day! If you might be interested, click below, and we’ll send along some information.
#3 - HELP US WITH TOOLS
If you have any tools you no longer need and want to give them a second life, let us know! Please note below what you’ve got, including the tool type, age, and any wear or tear we should know about.
If you have any tools you want to keep but are willing to share, or maybe just want to clear some space in your garage, we have a program for that! Through the Loan Share, we’ll take responsibility for storing, cleaning, maintaining and insuring any tool you’d care to lend, and you’ll have first rights to reserve it when you need it. If you decide you want it back, no problem - just give us a month’s heads up.
